Stainless steel seamless tube is a steel tube that is perforated from a whole round steel and has no welds on the surface. According to the production method, seamless steel pipes can be divided into hot-rolled seamless steel pipes, cold-rolled seamless steel pipes, cold-drawn seamless steel pipes, extruded seamless steel pipes, and pipe jacking. ASME SA213 TP316 tubes have high temperature strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Plus, stainless steel is easy to clean and won't tarnish. Stainless steel is an iron alloy containing at least 10.5% chromium, nickel, molybdenum, titanium, carbon, nitrogen, and copper, alloying elements that improve the strength, formability, and other properties of stainless steel. Stainless Steel Seamless Tube Cold Drawing Production Process
Stainless steel seamless tube cold drawing production process: round tube blank heating→piercing→heading→annealing→pickling→oiling→multi-pass cold drawing→billet tube→heat treatment→straightening→hydraulic test→marking→warehousing.

 

The rolling method of cold drawn seamless steel pipe is more complicated than that of hot rolling, and the steps of their production process are basically the same. After the round tube blank is punched, it needs to be headed and annealed. After annealing, use a special acidic liquid for pickling. After pickling, apply oil. Then followed by multiple passes of cold drawing. Heat treatment to improve the mechanical properties of stainless steel pipes, followed by straightening. After the steel pipe is straightened, it is sent to the metal flaw detector by the conveyor belt for internal flaw detection. If there are cracks inside the steel pipe, the problem of bubbles and the like will also be picked out. The length of cold-drawn seamless pipes is generally shorter than that of hot-rolled seamless pipes. In terms of wall thickness, the cold-drawn seamless pipe is more uniform than the hot-rolled seamless pipe, the precision of the cold-drawn pipe is higher, and the surface roughness is better.


The Difference Between Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe and Stainless Steel Seamless Tube
The seamless pipe is always round, and the diameter of the stainless steel seamless pipe is generally larger than that of the stainless steel seamless tube, the wall of the pipe is thicker, and it can withstand higher internal pressure. Pipelines are commonly used to transport liquids, fluids or gases under pressure and they are commonly used to transport fluids or gases in industrial applications such as oil and gas, chemical processing and power generation. Relatively speaking, the pipe is thicker and more expensive.

 

On the other hand, seamless tubes can be square, rectangular, or round, and stainless steel seamless tubes usually have a smaller diameter and thinner walls than stainless steel seamless pipes. They are usually used to require precise dimensions (the size of the seamless tube is represented by any two of its actual dimensions, namely outer diameter, inner diameter, and wall thickness). Applications with high cleanliness and smooth surfaces, seamless tubes are more used in mechanical applications such as supports, frames and structures, such as medical, pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries. Tubes are thinner and cheaper.
